Sickle cell Awareness Charity Walk took place on Saturday, July 31st 2010. Started from Mulago nurses hostel at Mulago Hospital to Kampala City Square and back to Mulago covering a distance of 3 miles. Everybody was in high spirits and thousands of bystanders took time to read the placards that were on display by the marchers.

Radio Program
The first radio program among a series that will run for six months took place last night on Radio Sapientia from 2200 to 2300 Ugandan time and 1300- 1400 Central time. This was a live broadcast with Abudallah and Lukia Mulumba in Texas hooked up to the program and Ruth Nankanja with the presenter in the studios. This is an interactive radio program in which listeners call in with their questions on sickle cell from all over Uganda. This program will run every Tuesday of the week at the same time. We are proud parents of a 8 year old sickle cell survivor. We are grateful to God and are determined to continue increasing sickle cell disease awareness, through education, and telling our story to inspire so many children and their parents.We all have important values and ideas, things we care about and want to share. We feel our story can even bring hope to the sickle cell patients. Sickle cell is so dear to us.
